About
My story so far, drawn in pencil. Scroll down to play it.
I was born in a small town in the south of Russia.
At three, I was already building machines out of LEGO, like a fire truck that doubled as a lift.
At 14, I started writing poetry.
At 15, I started riding BMX.
At 16, I fell in love with computers. I built apps and Flash games and did security research on apps.
That year, I volunteered to rebuild the Graffiti drawing app for VK.com, Russia's largest social network. I moved it from Flash to HTML canvas, which was just emerging at the time, and it later went into production.
Later that year, I moved to a small town on the Canadian Prairies.
At 18, I moved to Ontario to study computer programming at Sheridan College in Oakville. I graduated the next year.
I started my career as a front-end developer at a small software company, then moved into financial technology at RBC, Scotiabank, and HSBC, growing from developer to solutions architect. Since 2024, I've been a software engineering director at Broadridge.
In 2019, I got married.
Now
I live in Toronto. By day, I lead engineering at Broadridge. After work, I lift weights, and on evenings and weekends, I build open source.
